BIOGRAPHY
Qian (yoyo) Liu was born in Changchun, China. She began to play the piano at age five. In 1994, Yoyo won the first prize at the piano competition for children in the Jilin province. Before she came to America she had two years of teaching experience and she three years in the U.S. Yoyo received the Global Ambassador Award to study at Capital University in 2006. She has been on the Dean’s list both Freshman and sophomore year. She won the Concerto Competition of Capital University in 2007 and teamed with Fan Zhang and won the second prize OMTA/Graves duo piano competition. In 2008, Yoyo won the Karen Jeanne Foster Keyboard performance award. At the same year she won he third place of Women in Music. Yoyo is a founding teacher of NMCP since 2007 and currently enrolled as a collegiate chapter member of MTNA. Yoyo is currently studies at Capital University with Dr.Tianshu Wang who is an active and well-received soloist and collaborative pianist.
