I am originally from Queens, New York and I began my affair with the arts in elementary school, establishing the level of professional while in high school. I received a Bachelor of Arts Degree to further solidify my craft and took my career to the next level upon graduation as a performer. My experiences range from work in musical theatre, drama, film and television to recording and performing with renowned artists such as Barbra Streisand, Cece Winans, Whitney Houston, Norman Connors and Harriett Schock.
Some of the highlights of my career are that of a featured soloist on the Hour of Power with Dr. Robert Schuller and appearing in both the Glory of Christmas and Glory of Easter Pageants at the Crystal Cathedral. I appear as a soloist regularly with the North Carolina Symphony and my engagements have taken me throughout the country and internationally as well. I continue to perform consistently in various musical genres and am able to share those experiences with my students on a first hand basis. My six octave range has caused me to be highly sought after and in high demand both as a performer and as an instructor.
My students range from high school students to mature adults, both novice and experienced. I have been successful in helping them develop a myriad of skills including, but not limited to improved breath control, increased stamina and vocal range, correcting challenges with pitch and vocal placement. Instruction includes coaching and the development of musical interpretation through phrasing and dynamics.
It is important to understand the anatomy of the vocal mechanism and the unique technique that I use assists the student in applying this knowledge, along with visual imagery, to produce the proper tone for the style and genre of music of interest.
