BIOGRAPHY
Elizabeth started playing violin when she was four years old and studied with Suzuki teacher Edith Gettes in Chapel Hill, NC. When Elizabeth and her family moved to Michigan, she decided to take viola lessons as well. At age 11, she started taking viola lessons from Kristen Shoup. Elizabeth has been playing in string orchestras and symphony orchestras since she was in middle school. She started teaching her first violin and viola students when she was fifteen, and because of her love of teaching and performing, decided she wanted to major in music. She was accepted into the music performance program at the Wheaton Conservatory of Music and graduated with a bachelor's degree in music performance with an emphasis in music pedagogy.
Her teachers inlcude: Diane Rhonda, Edith Gettes, Caroline Freihofer, Kristen Shoup, Barb Corbato, Paul Vanderwerf, and Claudia Lasareff-Mironoff.
She completed her Suzuki Book teacher training with Rebecca Sandrock.
Elizabeth sat co-principle of the Grand Rapids Youth Symphony and the Wheaton College Symphony Orchestra. She has been on tours to Europe, Texas, and the Midwest. Her chamber group recently placed runner-up in the Wheaton College chamber music competition.
