BIOGRAPHY
Vania Todorova is a Doctoral candidate in piano performance at the University of Missouri -- Kansas City, Conservatory of Music. She studied piano since she was fourteen in her native country Bulgaria. She graduated with a Bachelor's degree in piano performance from the Academy of Music and Dance - Plovdiv under Malina Malinova. Later on Vania was offered an assistantship at Bowling Green State University, where she studied with Dr. Jane Solose. At UMKC- Conservatory of Music Vania Todorova studied with prof. John McIntyre . As a student Vania has received many grants and scholarships from the University of Missouri in Kansas City. Vania has been active in the Kansas City area, where she performed numerous public and private solo recitals (concert series at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, Ottawa University in 2007 etc). She has been featured as a soloist with orchestras in Bulgaria. Vania Todorova has been a participant in master classes with Lars Vogt, Benjamin Zander, Norma Fisher, Vladimir Feltsman, Michael Gurt, and David Burge, among others. In 2005 and 2006 she participated in the London Master Classes and she performed at the Royal Academy of Music in London. In November 2006 she won second place in the MMTA competition. Vania has also performed solo recitals in Bristol and London, UK. Most recent performances include Schumann piano concerto with Haskovo Symphony in Bulgaria with conductor Krasimir Zahariev ( May '08)Vania maintains a very active teaching career. She teaches all levels - from beginner to advanced, children as well as adults. She got her start as a member of the faculty at the Music High School in Plovdiv, Bulgaria in 1996. Since then, she has taught privately in the US (Bowling Green, OH and Kansas City, MO) as well as in Europe (London, UK).
Vania Todorova was the accompanist for Ottawa University and currently she is the piano teacher for the Art& Music program at the prestigious Pembroke Hill School- Warnal campus.
