BIOGRAPHY
I have been teaching in both group and individual settings for fourteen years, since the age of sixteen, having taught for several years at music stores such as Willimantic's Thread City Music and East Hartford's Le Salle Music; I began offering private lessons on a regular basis in 2000 at my studio as well as the homes and dorms of my students, I started up ctguitarlessons.com in 2008, and I am also currently a substitute teacher at Mansfield's Guitar Workshop. My goal has always been to offer top of the line instruction at a price that people can afford; college students and others in need of financial assistance are eligible for discounts of up to 30%, please contact me for more information at shadowsd@snet.net.
EDUCATION
I began learning guitar in 1993 at the age of fourteen, taking a year and a half of lessons; I also took a college music theory course in my sophomore year in high school. At the age of sixteen, I invented an entirely new model for understanding and teaching music theory, entitled "Theory Made Easy", which gives a student the genuine equivalent of years of university study within months; it has taught dozens of students with no musical experience to improvise solos over any piece of music they wish after only ten lessons, and has even taught students who have graduated college as music majors to understand theory in a far more practical, comfortable, and applicable way than ever before in just weeks.
