BIOGRAPHY
A descendent of great American poet Walt Whitman, Pamela earned her degree in Flute Performance from the University of Michigan. She has been the Principal Flutist of The Ocean City Pops Orchestra since 1989. Her performances incorporate multiple creative mediums and genres and have been described by the L.A. Express as “a unique blend of compassion, technique, style, cultural diversity and personality.” Pamela has produced and starred in performances at such illustrious venues as The Brooklyn Academy of Music; Birendra International Convention Convention Center in Kathmandu, Nepal; New York’s Colden Center, Xinghai Concert Hall in Guangzhou, China; House of Blues, Hollywood and more. Whitman’s groundbreaking three-year cultural exchange program with the Himalayan Kingdom of Nepal was the subject of a television documentary that aired in 17 Asian countries to an estimated 250 million people. In 2002, Artists for A Better World honored Pamela in an international award ceremony for her humanitarian work as a producer and musician. Whitman was the first American to host a radio program on the Himalayan Broadcasting Company in Nepal.
