BIOGRAPHY
As a vocal coach and lecturer, Michael has worked with singers and actors in all areas of the entertainment industry including Mike Myers (SHREK), Dakota Fanning (Hounddog), David Hasselhoff, Tom Bosley, Andy Garcia (Hoodlum), Kerry Washington (Ray), Tina Majorino (Napoleon Dynamite), Luke Perry (Rocky Horror Show), Oscar De La Hoya (Tonight Show), Ally Walker, Dawn Robinson (En Vogue) the singing group Shai, and the 2002 Tony Award winner for Thoroughly Modern Millie, Sutton Foster.
In addition, Michael has worked with MCA, SONY, Reprise, Capitol, Virgin, Gasoline Alley and Talking Loud Records/London. Working with actors/singers as a vocal consultant, he has contributed on projects for Columbia Pictures, MGM, DreamWorks, Maverick, NBC and VH1.
On Broadway, his clients have performed or are performing in Jersey Boys, Shrek, Young Frankenstein, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Les Miserables, Annie, Tommy, The Phantom of the Opera, Rent, Chicago, Jekyll & Hyde, The Rocky Horror Show, Little Women, 42nd Street, AIDA, The Drowsy Chaperone and Beauty and the Beast. His work with National Tours includes Jersey Boys, Wicked, Miss Saigon, Les Miserables, Carousel, Tommy, AIDA and RENT, plus Canadian productions of Tommy, Miss Saigon and Phantom.
Michael is certified as a master instructor in the Speech Level Singing International organization, and is responsible for training teachers worldwide. He’s been a featured speaker at the Learning Annex in Los Angeles and is a regular contributor to BackStage in New York and BackStage West in Los Angeles with his Vocalease column.
