BIOGRAPHY
Christen Stephens has over 10 years experience as a private music instructor, and works full time at her studio and as a performer. She teaches flute, piano, and recorder to students of all ages and levels. Christen has experience in teaching keyboarding and recorder classes. She is also a freelance performer and has played for weddings, corporate events, social events, and weekly church services. Her performance repertoire includes classical, jazz, popular, sacred, and Celtic music. She has been an active member of the National Flute Association since 1996 and is currently serving on the auditions committee in the Charlotte Piano Teachers Forum.
EDUCATION
Christen is a graduate of the University of North Carolina in Charlotte where she studied flute under Mark Thomas, and international soloist and founder of the National Flute Association. She graduated magna cum laude with a music teaching degree and earned her K-12 teaching license.
