BIOGRAPHY
PRIVATE LESSONS: Ages 8+
Advanced Players: Study the secret techniques of "the masters".
Advanced lessons with an emphasis on jazz techniques including getting that swing feel, traditional grip, finger systems, multiple bounce techniques, four-way independence, soloing, musical phrasing, and more.
Established Player: Learn with a Pro.
Lessons with an emphasis on stick control, syncopation, chart reading, coordinated independence, and musical interpretation.
Complete Beginner: Learn the basics.
New to drums? Learn to hold the sticks, read musical notation, and perform a variety of rhythms and grooves on the drum set. A great first step towards playing in the school, church, or neighborhood band.
Fees are as follows:
$100 monthly - for one thirty-minute lesson per week
$150 monthly - for one forty-five minute lesson per week
$200 monthly - for one sixty-minute lesson per week
GROUP LESSONS: Ages 6+
Group lessons are offered through the Elk Grove CSD (Consumnes Service District) and are open to students ages 6+. Classes are offered on Wednesday evenings as well as week-long camps during summer break.
Group Lessons for Kids:
Learn the basics of drumming in a fun and creative group environment. Students learn to hold the drumsticks, read basic music notation, and play simple rhythms on the drum, tambourine, triangle, cowbell and woodblock. A great first step towards private lessons.
Group Lessons for Teens:
Want to play in a band? Learn the basics of contemporary drumming in a relaxed group environment. Designed for teens this class focuses on developing correct playing habits through hands-on instruction. This class is an excellent step towards playing in the school, church or neighborhood band.
Instrument rental:
Current students taking lessons (who have earned my trust) can rent drums, drumsets, and other percussion instrument. Fees are as follows:
4-Piece drumset - $25 per month
Snare drum and stand - $10 per month
Music stand, folding - $10 per month
Other classical percussion instruments including symphonic model tambornines, triangles, cymbals, sticks, malletts and beaters are available for single performance rentals. See instructor for details and pricing.

EDUCATION
Scott Willson is a long-time performer, educator, and clinician living in Elk Grove, CA. With a Bachelors Degree in Percussion and more than 15 years experience performing, recording, and teaching a wide range of styles and gentres, Scott is truely a ONE OF A KIND musician.

Mat Marucci - active performer, author, educator, and clinician listed in Who's Who In America, International Who's Who In Music (Cambridge, England) and the Institute of Jazz Studies (Rutgers University).
Stan Lunetta - retired timpanist, percussionist, composer, conductor and music contractor (he hired and fired the musicians for each show) with Sacramento Philharmonic, Sacramento Symphony, Sacramento Opera Association, Sacramento Choral Society and Orchestra, as well as the pit drummer for the California Musical Theater for 54 years.
Dr. Daniel Kennedy - Active performer, clinician, and professor of percussion at California State University at Sacramento.
