BIOGRAPHY
Buddy Jones was born on August 1st 1983 in Lake Tahoe, CA. Though he grew up in the hot desert of Arizona he finds himself living in cold climates like Boston & New York now. He started guitar at age eleven & submerged himself into music. Buddy first was trying to pickup anything he could get his ears on like rock & blues. His first influences of guitarists like Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Joe Pass & Steve Vai were invaluable. While attending NSA an art high school in Phoenix he ventured into jazz.
Buddy was lucky enough to have taken instruction from amazing players and educators: John Wilkins, Jim Kelly, Sheryl Bailey, Dave Debree, Jim Zupancic & Larry Baione, Joe Costello, David Kreigal. Howard Alden, George Van Eps, & Bucky Pizzarelli who’s seven string (lap piano) work had influenced Buddy to explore the traditional jazz guitarists.
Buddy strives to play with the most talented & innovative musicians around the world. Every week he guides his students to their musical goals, and brings a positive impacting experience to every student and listener he comes across.
