BIOGRAPHY
Betty Cederlund has been teaching piano using the Suzuki Method, "the natural way to learn to play," since 1986. She accepts students from the age of three and a half through adult at her studio in Concord, California. Students participate in annual recitals. All students have the opportunity to participate in the Certificate of Merit program, the Sonata Contest and the Baroque Festival. Many of Betty's students have earned the privilege of playing in concert at the annual Music Teachers' Association of California Conventions as well as local Branch Honors recitals.
EDUCATION
Betty received her B.A. in Keyboard Pedagogy from Chico State University in 1985, following which she underwent extensive teacher training in the Suzuki Method at Holy Names University in Oakland, Sacramento State University and Northwest Nazarene University in Nampa, Idaho. She also attended workshops with Haruko Kataoka who helped found the Suzuki Method for piano in Japan and has also attended the International Suzuki Association Conventions in Chicago.
