BIOGRAPHY

Jennifer Cichinski has had a passion for singing since the age of 5. She also plays piano and guitar, and comes from a long line of musicians. Her father sings and plays in a piano bar. Her paternal grandmother played banjo, drums, and trumpet. Jennifer also gets artistic talent from her mother.

The urge to sing in a band is what prompted Jennifer to seek vocal training herself in 1996, for which she became a stronger, more powerful singer. She then sang with a band that performed all types of music from the 50's to today, including specialty genres such as Irish.

Teaching began when an acquaintance told her she wanted to take voice lessons, and asked if Jennifer gave them. Having been a school teacher before and knowing she had the ability to convey ideas, she saw this as a wonderful challenge. That's how A Sharp voice came to be.

Jennifer expanded upon what she learned from Gladys Bryant, a New Jersey wedding band leader, and has developed her own variations and expansions on the techniques she was taught.

Her teaching style is one of motivation and goal orientation. Areas needing improvement are seen as goals, not weaknesses or problems. Students are very pleased during the course of training at the noticeable improvements they've made in their overall performance.

The name A Sharp Voice is derived from the note A sharp (or A# in sheet music terms). The sharp is a half tone up from A, so it sends a positive message of A Plus!

A Sharp Voice also offers public speaking training. Students practice using monologues and
scripts. They are taught proper delivery and how to keep an audience engaged. We correct common flaws in delivery and learn how body language affects vocal performance.

Jennifer specializes in helping students overcome fear and self doubt concerning their level of talent and ability. She has the ability to calm and encourage at the same time.
