BIOGRAPHY
Mezzo - soprano, Winnie Wilson Goree, founded Atlanta Voice Lessons and Singer's Resources in 1996, after many years of professional singing and teaching experience.
Winnie teaches in an atmosphere of joyful energy using vocal literature well suited to the needs of her students. Winnie uses comprehensive and effective techniques designed to work with your voice and music. She employs bel canto techniques of classical singing that can be applied to whatever you are singing. You will develop an impressive repertoire of songs for all situations. She will help you develop your voice allowing you to sing with confidence and freedom to express the music through your voice. Winnie works with all levels of students ranging from gifted high school students to advanced adult professional singers.
Your vocal studies through Atlanta Voice Lessons will help you with all of the skills that you need for your solo voice: placement, breathing, diction, song interpretation, musicianship, and strengthening of your voice, plus range extension. She also works with choral singers. Atlanta Voice Lessons is a studio for students to establish a technique suitable for opera, art songs, and legitimate musical theatre work plus oratorio. We are located in N.E. Atlanta in Brookhaven - - a couple of miles North of Lenox Square with easy access to GA. 400, I-85/75 and I-285, and one half mile from the Brookhaven MARTA Station.
Voice lessons will be recorded with state of the art equipment in mp3 format for you to take home using a USB thumb drive. Optional opportunities to work with Winnie and a professional accompanist are available for students to work on audition and performance skills for musicals, secular works, recitals and opera in addition to honor chorus, and college level auditions
EDUCATION
Winnie received her masters degree from Wichita State University. Her teachers and coaches have included Janet Yenne, Irene Callaway Harrower, George Gibson, Vernon Yenne and David D'Ambrosio, and Walter Huff. Winnie currently studies voice with renowned soprano, Meredith Zara, head Professor Emeritus from Michigan State University. Ms. Goree is a member of The National Association of Teachers of Singing and Mu Phi Epsilon. Winnie attended the National Association of Teachers of Singing Conference in Nashville, Tennessee, during the summer of 2008.
